Domracheva tops IBU World Cup overall standings

The Belarusian star cleaned all the targets to finish the race in 20:35.7.

Belarus number one Darya Domracheva made a great performance in the 7.5 km women's sprint during BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 8 in Holmenkollen, Norway on 14 February to overtake the Yellow Bib from Finnish Kaisa Makarainen.

The Belarusian star cleaned all the targets to finish the race in 20:35.7. Germany's Laura Dahlmeier also shot clean but finished second, 14.3 seconds back. Third went to France's Marie Dorin Habert, with one penalty, 29.9 seconds back.

Domracheva's main rival Kaisa Makarainen of Finland finished 24th with three penalties, 1:07.3 back.

Thus, Darya Domracheva keeps the lead in the IBU World Cup standings with the total of 837 points. Kaisa Makarainen is 10 points behind with the total of 827. Veronika Vitkova of the Czech Republic goes third with 620 points.

Darya Domracheva's teammates showed the following results in the 7.5km women's sprint: Nadezhda Skardino – 17th (1:00.5 back; zero penalties), Anastasia Duborezova – 25th (1:11.9; 1), Nadezhda Pisareva – 46th (1:47.3; 2), Irina Krivko – 51st (1:56.5; 1).
