Belarus to place eurobonds for $1bn in 2015

Belarus' First Vice Premier Vasily Matyushevsky has confirmed that Belarus is set to place eurobonds for $1 billion in 2015.

He noted that if the external and internal conditions are favorable, Belarus will float eurobonds. The amount of eurobonds is currently under consideration. “This is a matter we should discuss with out agent banks,” Vasily Matyushevsky explained.

He also noted that the total amount of eurobonds to be placed in 2015 will be announced in advance. “We previously talked about $1 billion, and nothing has changed by now,” Vasily Matyushevsky said.

At the Belarusian-UK investment forum in 2014 it was announced that Belarus is going to place ten-year maturity eurobonds for $1 billion. As BelTA reported earlier, Belarus seeks to be present on the international financial markets. The country has already placed two debut eurobond issues maturing in 2015 and 2018 respectively. The total amount of the funds raised through the eurobonds is $1.8 billion. Of the amount, $1 billion will be redeemed in 2015.
