Azarenka up two points in WTA rankings

In the latest edition of the WTA rankings Belarus number one Victoria Azarenka moved two points up to the 36th position.

Last week before the Indian Wells the Belarusian tennis player ranked 38th place. In the second round of BNP Paribas Indian Wells Victoria Azarenka closed out World No. 61 Kirsten Flipkens of Belgium in two sets 6:2, 6:4 and lost to Russian Maria Sharapova (4:6, 3:6). After Indian Wells Victoria has 1,358 points and is now 36th in the WTA ranking. Now Victoria is preparing for the WTA Miami. In the first round she will play Spaniard Silvia Soler-Espinosa, No. 67 in the world ranking.

The top ten players, according to the current WTA rankings, are as follows:

1. Serena Williams (USA) - 9,982 points

2. Maria Sharapova (Russia) - 8,270

3. Simona Halep (Romania) - 7,181

4. Petra Kvitova (the Czech Republic) - 6,275
