Ivonka Survilla congratulates Belarusians on Freedom Day

Chairman of the Rada of the Belarusian People's Republic (BNR) Ivonka Survilla congratulated compatriots on Freedom Day.

March 25, 1918 the Belarusian nation announced to the world that it "resets the last yoke of state dependence", and that "from now on, the Belarusian People's Republic is an independent and free State" the statement notes, which BelaPAN presents.

"Thanks to courage and determination of our ancestors, we joined the Soviet Union not as a Russian province, but, at least on paper — as a separate Republic, and in 1991 we gained independence, and the Republic of Belarus took its place as a State on the Earth," the message says.

"Unfortunately, imperial "цмок" (dragon) whom many people stopped paying attention to under the influence of daily Moscow and Moscow propaganda brainwashing is awaken again. Independence of Belarus is again under threat, and in the current circumstances, we cannot protect it without the help of the civilized world, Survilla believes. "Love to our homeland, the solidarity between us and our actions are only available weapons to defend our independence, the Chairman of BNR Rada believes. The civilized world will pay attention to our trouble only when it understands that we are an old European nation, which has no difference from other European nations, and that we deserve to live the European way in our free State".

"But it is required that other peoples need to see that we deserve their confidence and respect,"Survilla emphasizes." Free world will not help Moscow allies. Without Western solidarity a half of Ukraine would be in hands of Moscow aggressor, even if we recognize the Western assistance to Ukraine was insufficient to protect its territorial integrity. We also need this solidarity".

The Chairman of BNR Rada urges compatriots to "do everything for freedom of their ancestors' lands and for better fate to their grandchildren and great-grandchildren." "So we could all together dream about the Belarus, the Belarusian people dreamed about, passing the Act of March 25, 1918, Survilla adds.
