Anti-Semitic slogans appear in the streets of Svetlahorsk

Anti-Semitic graffiti appeared during the night of March 22 in public places of Svetlahorsk.

They appeared on the substation building, a hospital's fence, public transport stop, and a kiosk.

"The inscriptions were made with black dyestuff with hexagram in form of two applied triangles – six-pointed star. Now investigators together with the Regional Police Department staff are looking for individuals involved in acts of vandalism", Maryia Kryvanohava, the spokesperson of the USK in the Homel region, informed BelaPAN.

It should be reminded that in late December 2014, the unknown desecrated a building of the public "Homel Regional Jewish Community Akhdut" association. On the facade and gate they painted a swastika and wrote "holocaust" and "death to Jews" on the fence.

In early March in Svetlahorsk the unknown painted with black marker the sculpture of "Princess of the Sun City" - a symbol of Svetlahorsk and threw paint at the portrait sculpture of the Hero of Soviet Union Turkman Klychniyaz Azalov buried in Svetlahorsk.

Because of inscriptions made in Svetlahorsk on the night of March 22, the Investigating Committee initiated a case under Article 341 of the Criminal Code (desecration of buildings and voluntary waste).
