Employees of Vitebskie produkty company: Mass dismissals take place at enterprise

“Optimization of the staff” has started since the beginning of the New Year, and it is to hit all shops of the company.

A reader of charter97.org Andrei told about dismissals at Vitebskie produkty Joint Stock company. His wife works for this company and recently faced this situation personally.

“Dismissals started since the beginning of the new year. They are given a target, how many people are to be discharged in a certain trade outlet. All persons who contracts are expiring, are offered not to renew the contract, as it would be better than to be forced to leave by the management later.

Besides, every employee of Vitebskie produkty JSC has a payroll card, but in fact workers are paid wages to their cards once in half a year, and the rest of the time they are paid in cash according to a payroll register. So it is no clear why these cards were needed, and why money is transferred to them so rarely, the reader writes.

A journalist of charter97.org managed to check information contacting other workers of Vitebskie produkty JSC.

“We were paid advance payment in cash, and since this month this payment was cancelled at all. We are to receive money once a month. As for dismissals, I do not know, at least everything is quiet in our shop,” Viktoriya writes.

“I do not work there, but I heard from my acquaintances that people are fired,” a reader Darya informs.

“I am an ideological worker. That is, I work for the sake of an idea!” a reader Alena says jestingly. “It is an absolute truth. But these dismissals are called by a nice phrase “optimization of cadres.” It is true that salary is transferred to a card two times a year. And we are not paid any bonuses since October 2013. Not in any shop, not to any worker!”

Representatives of the company denied comment to a charter97.org journalist.

We remind that for about half a year reports are received that enterprises are moved to three- and four-days week, about wages that are reduced or paid incompletely. Some employees are obliged to take unpaid leaves.
