Belarusian, arrested for solidarity with Ukraine, worked at Russian military plant

Kiryl Silivonchyk (Kirill Silivonchik) posted pro-Ukrainian messages and pictures while working in Nizhny Novgorod under close surveillance of the FSB.

The 23-year-old worker of the 170th flight facilities repair plant was born in the Svetlahorsk district, Belarus. The plant belongs to Aviaremont company. As Euroradio found out, the board of directors of the company mostly consists of officials of the Russian Defence Ministry. Most products of the plant are designed for the army.

Views of <>bKiryl Silivonchyk apparently couldn't but attract attention of his colleagues amid the total anti-Ukrainian propaganda. His page on a social networking site was available to all.

Kiryl Silivonchyk was tried by the Moscow regional military court in early April. He was sentenced to two years in an open-type correctional facility for his post of solidarity with Ukraine on a social networking website, which was interpreted by the court as “terrorist activity”.
