Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee proposes to introduce a new tax

Capital tax inspections are ordered to carry out effective work on budget replenishment at the expense of internal resources.

Minsk-news agency reports it was proposed by Andrei Shoretz, Chairman of Minsk City Executive Committee, on board of inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties in Minsk. It discussed the outcome of the 1st quarter and marked targets for the near future.

The Minister of Taxes and Duties Siarhei Nalivaika, the Head of Financial Department of Minsk City Executive Committee Aliaksei Afanasieu, the members of the Board, Heads of district tax inspections and their deputies participated in the meeting.

For the first quarter of 2015 Minsk has raised Br20.2 trillion of tax payments. It is almost 50% of all consolidated incomes of Republic of Belarus controlled by the Ministry of Taxes and Duties.

Summing up the board, Sharets noted that the tax authorities of the city omit work on budget replenishment at the expense of internal resources.

- Make proposals- what should be done, what tax should be imposed to make unprofitable for business entities to run inefficiently used assets, land, property, the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee addressed the tax inspectorate.

Sharets drew particular attention to work with small businesses, as well as with enterprises of public food catering. He used a network of institutions of public food catering on the Zhdanovichy market with its huge cash flow and no checks as an example. And it means all the taxes are not paid.

There also should be conducted work on renting apartments. It is necessary to work with the Housing Maintenance Service. It is necessary to improve public awareness, using modern technologies, to actively cooperate with the media, explaining to citizens the need to comply with tax laws, Sharets said.

The Minister of Taxes and Duties agreed with the Chairman's of Minsk City Executive Committee criticism.
