Organizer of Charnobylski Shlyakh appeals against fee for march

Illya Dabratvor appealed against fee raised by the CDIA (City Department of Internal Affairs) of Minsk City Executive Committee for holding a rally.

On April 27 the activist filed a complaint to the Moscow district court against mandatory requirement of the Minsk City Executive Committee (MCEC) to enter into a contract for provision of paid services to the participants of the march by public authorities. He asks the court to declare the MCEC's illegal and reverse the decision of the capital vertical which "mentions the contract on protection of public order, relevant contracts on health care services (УОЗ Minsk City Ambulance), cleaning-up the territory (City Road Repair Service), Belaruskaya prauda reports.

The complaint is agreed with representatives of the Organizing Committee of the Charnobylski Chliakh rally.

The Minsk City Executive Committee permitted holding a rally, however, it changed the time of gathering: from 2 to 2.30 pm, and the march will take place from 2.30 to 4 pm.

According to the filed application, gathering of the march participants is planned near October cinema from 2 to 3 pm, from where they will go the Park of Peoples ' Friendship. It is known, the Organizing Committee on preparation and holding of Charnobyl Chliakh refused to hold a rally on April 26, it made no sense and was too expensive.

On April 23 every applicant received a bill for the action amounted Br2.732.300 million. As a result, the action will cost organizers about Br14 (Br13.661.500) million.

Illya Dabratvor, the representative of "Razam" solidarity movement, Aliaksei Yuanukevich, Chairman of the BPF Party, Vital Rymasheuski, co-Chairman of the BCD Party, Dzmitry Kuchuk, the representative of the Greens Party, Yuras Hubarevich, the representative of the For Freedom movement signed the application.
