Belarus move up to 83rd in FIFA rankings

The Belarusian national football team have moved from the 98th to the 83rd position in the rankings published by the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) in April 2015.

In March Belarus won the game against Macedonia in the Euro 2016 qualifying tournament (2-1) and had a draw (0-0) with Gabon in Turkish Belek. The Belarusian team headed by Alexander Khatskevich will play the next games in summer.

Belarus currently holds 397 points. The national team will play a friendly game in early June. On 14 June they will meet Spain in the next Euro 2016 qualifying tournament at Borisov Arena.

Belarus' group rivals take the following positions in the FIFA rankings: Spain goes 10th with 1,132 points, Slovakia – 20th with 920 points, Ukraine – 33rd with 772 points, Macedonia – 105th with 312 points and Luxemburg – 137th with a total of 200 points.

According to the FIFA rankings, Russia goes 32nd with 781 points, Uzbekistan – 73rd (476 points), Armenia – 77th (449), Latvia – 85th (387), Estonia – 93rd (358), Lithuania – 100th (333), Azerbaijan – 115th (264), Moldova – 121st (245), Kazakhstan – 133rd (210), Georgia – 138th (197), Tajikistan – 143rd (175), Kyrgyzstan – 153rd (146), Turkmenistan – 159th (131).

Germany tops the FIFA rankings with a total of 1,687 points. Second goes Argentina with 1,490 points, with Belgium in third (1,457).

The next FIFA rankings will be published on 7 May.
