Music of banned Lyapis band in Minsk centre

Minsk residents were dancing to songs of Lyapis Trubetskoy, the group that was banned in Belarus, and condemned the police officers who tried to disperse musicians.

The collective Children of the Underground played famous hit songs of Siarhei Mikhalok's former group near Independence Square. After a police officer ordered the musicians to leave the pedestrian underpass, they continued playing near an entrance to a metro station, Radio Svaboda reports.

The musicians immediately attracted a crowd of people.

Music of both bands of Siarhei Mikhalok – BRUTTO and Lyapis Trubetskoy – was unofficially banned in Belarus. It cannot be aired on the radio or played at concerts.
