Control over roads has been strengthened in Ukraine's Chernihiv region, which borders on Belarus.

Security measures were increased on Homel-Chernihiv highway. According to Radio Racyja, an additional security checkpoint was set up on the road. An armed policeman, soldiers of the National Guard and activists of Maidan Self Defence from Chernihiv are on duty 24 hours a day. Special attention is given to cars with Russian registration plates entering Ukraine from Belarus. Other objects of security measures are bridges, the railway and stations. The police of Chernihiv as well as the Security Service of Ukraine stepped up security to prevent provocations and acts of sabotage. Ukrainian security service have information that provocations are possible in Chernihiv on Victory Day.
