Deputy director of Minsk-based dairy plant No.2 sentenced to 6 years in prison

The chief accountant of the plant was given 3 years of suspended sentence.

Deputy director of Minsk dairy plant No.2 responsible for economic affairs was detained for bribery at the beginning of the year. The woman had been receiving bribes for solving issues with advance payments for Negorelskoye company for more than 5 years. According to investigators, the woman received 200-300 dollars a month. A total of $63,100 was seized and forfeited to the state during a search at her home, BelTA reports.

The chief accountant helped in the deals and transferred advance payments. She also received $300 a month.

A total amount of bribes was $22,200 for the deputy director and $2,700 for the chief accountant.

Minsk's Zavadski district court sentenced the former deputy director to 6 years of imprisonment and confiscation of property for accepting bribes on an especially large scale (part 3 of article 430 of the Criminal Code). She was also deprived of the right to be engaged in certain activities.

The chief accountant was given a 3-year suspended sentence. She was deprived of the right to be engaged in certain activities for a period of 3 years.

The court decisions haven't taken force yet and can be appealed against in due course.
