3

The total amount of fines exceeded Br100 million.

Charter97.org website was tolf about that by the press-service of the Belarusian Association of Journalists.

Leaflets with a reminder about crackdown on journalists in our country appeared in the streets of Minsk. “In 2015 journalists were tried for 21 times already… It’s enough!” it is written there.

“We remind that persecution of independent journalists for cooperation with foreign mass media without accreditation has reached the size of a campaign this year. On the grounds of policemen’s reports, judges tried cases of journalists from different parts of the country for 21 time, and the total amount of fines exceeded Br100 million,” the leaflet reads.

At the moment administrative processes under Article 22.9 of the Administrative Code have been opened against Alyaksandr Lyauchuk, Tatsyana Smotkina and Dzmitry Lupach. The latter are to stand trial on July 9 and 10 in Hlybokaye.
