Prosecutor's Office issues a warning to Ivatsevichy journalist

Ivatsevichy freelancer Pavel Dailid received a written warning for work without accreditation.

Siarhei Zhukovich, Deputy Prosecutor of Ivatsevichy district, issued a warning. The reason was the article on Radio Svaboda website, made in Sporava village, Biaroza district, - Sporava revolt: peasants demand their lake back", Radio Racyja reports.

- Biaroza District Department of Internal Affairs provided information for the Prosecutor's Office, the journalist tells. - I am not so worried about that warning. It is like a certificate from the government for my work. That is how they 'appreciate' independent journalism - they try correspondents of Radio Racyja or Belsat. Therefore, I am not surprised. It is clear there was an order, so I did not resist.

Pavel Dailid did not plead guilty. He believes the Constitution guarantees him the right on gathering and dissemination of information. But he does not intend to appeal against the warning, as the practice shows it does not bring positive results.
