MTZ workers: The plant goes through hard times

Workers at the Minsk Tractor Plant suffer consequences of the economic crisis and have no illusions about upcoming "elections".

Radio Svaboda correspondent asked them about future "elections" and working conditions at the MTZ.

Answering the question "Whom would you like to see as the President of Belarus?" some refused to speak on camera or just said that "do not take part in it".

"I wish Zezon Pazniak would be the president. Unfortunately, he would not run for presidency. But from those nominated I even do not know whom to vote for", a man of middle age said.

"I wish it would be someone new... It is quite enough for this person", another worker said.

"A few moments confuse me: for example, crisis... The price increase... Four-day week", a young man shared his opinion.

"I have not decided yet, I do not see candidates. Apparently, there is no alternative. There should be a competition", a woman shared her opinion.

"Our salary is about Br4 millions. We wish we could earn more... The plant, as you can see, suffers crisis", a young man said.
