Uladzimir Khalip: It’s bad move to write anything in ballot papers

Participants of the initiative group for nomination of Mikalai Statkevich as a presidential candidate do not know about ideas voiced by Maryna Adamovich.

charter97.org website was informed about that by a well-known Belarusian screenwriter, playwright and political writerUladzimir Khalip/b>.

- Today Maryna Adamovich, Mikalai Statkevich’s wife, voiced his address, saying that, as said by her, that “participation in the election by a part of opposition makes elections boycott ineffective”. There was also a call to those who are going to be at polling stations, “to write their message in a ballot paper, to clearly antagonism against the policy of the powers that be.” As a member of the initiative group, do you support these statements?

- No one invited us for a meeting. It’s possible that Maryna Adamovich has made the statement on her behalf or on behalf of a narrow circle. No one informed me about that. I think that the idea to write something in ballot papers is a Bad move. To participate in the elections and write something there means to be checked in lists of voters and others. It is to turn out that everyone voted for the only and unchangeable candidate. That is why I believe that the only way out in this situation to save one’s vote and not to go to polling stations. It is going to be very much in evidence that people had stayed away from at polling stations.
