NATO intelligence: Russia’s troops and heavy military equipment are on Ukraine’s territory

Russia continues to conduct a substantial support to militants in eastern Ukraine.

It was said by NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in an exclusive interview to Ukrinform.

“Our intelligence services from many countries of the Alliance, as well as open sources – mass media, reports from families of Russian soldiers – all of them confirm the same picture: Russia is providing a substantial support to militants, supplies heavy and modern military equipment, in particular, air defence complexes, artillery, tanks, control systems, and is also carrying out training. Russian forces are also found on the territory of the eastern Ukraine and along the Ukrainian-Russian border,” the head of the Alliance said.

As for the quantity of Russian military in eastern Ukraine, Stoltenberg could not name specific numbers, as, according to him, these figures differ.

“What we have seen is that over the last few month Russia had supplied to militants more than a thousand items of heavy military equipment,” the NATO Secretary-General stated.
