Book distributor wearing “Azov” T-shirt detained in Minsk metro

Policemen searched Miraslau Lazouski and found the book Time to Gather Bones by Viktar Kazko suspicious. They said it was “seditious literature”.

Activist Miraslau Lazouski was detained at Kuntsaushchyna metro station at 9:30 on July 7. Salidarnasts learnt details from his former wife Nina Shydlouskaya.

According to her, policemen turned attention to Miraslau's T-shirt reading “Azov” that he brought from Ukraine.

Lazouski was taken to a police room for a search. The policemen found books in his backpack. Miraslau is a distributor of Belaruski Knihazbor publishing house.

“The police officers found the book Time to Gather Bones by Viktar Kazko suspicious. They said it was seditious literature,” Nina Shydlouskaya said.

Miraslau was taken to the police station of the Minsk metro in Independence Square.

Shydlouskaya says she managed to saw Miraslau Lazouski in the police station.

“We were waiting for a police chief to learn reasons for the detention. We were said that police bosses were out and we needed to contact a district court. In our case, it was the Frunzenski district court.”

Representatives of the police station refused to say a Salidarnasts correspondent why Lazouski had been detained and advised to talk to the press service of the Minsk main police department. The press service hasn't given any comments yet.
