An investigation against officials of ice hockey club Dinamo Minsk goes on.

It is reported by the Investigation Committee.

“Officers of the Interior Ministry recorded facts of abuse of power by general director of Dinamo Minsk ice hockey club Maksim Subotkin that resulted in inflicting damage to the club on an especially large scale.

Police officers also revealed facts of embezzlement by general manager Uladzimir Berazhkou. The latter has systematically been embezzling and spending funds of the ice hockey club at his own discretion for a year.

The amount of the money embezzled by Uladzimir Berazhkou is preliminary estimated at no less than 1 billion rubles.

The exact amount of the damage caused by the official is being established,” the Investigation Committee notes.

Subotkin and Berazhkou have been charged and taken into custody until trial. The investigation is under way.

Acting general director of Dinamo Minsk Uladzimir Berazhkou was reported to have been arrested on August 14. The Investigation Committee opened a criminal case under part 3 of article 210 of the Criminal Code of Belarus. Berazhkou was initially suspected of embezzling the club's funds of no less than 45 million rubles ($2,800).

Uladzimir Berazhkou is a legend of Belarusian sports journalism and one of the founders of Pressball newspaper, which he had headed for 19 years.

A criminal case was earlier launched against general director of Dinamo Minsk hockey club Maksim Subotkin on suspicion of inflicting damage on an especially large scale.
