As many as 169,600 industrial employees had to work part time in the first half of 2015.

This is 2.2-fold more than in the first half of 2014. Employees of manufacturing industry made 97.2% of part-time workers, BelaPAN reports with a link to the National Statistics Committee.

The number of people who had to work part time decreased from 85,100 in May 2015 to 71,900 in June 2015 in industry (without microorganisations and small organisations without departmental affiliation).

The number of employees in manufacturing industry who had to work short weeks (days) at the initiative of the employer increased 2.8-fold to 76,800 people in the first half of 2015 compared to the same period of 2014. The number of workers who had to take leaves at the initiative of the employer grew 1.8-fold to 88,000 people.

The total amount of non-worked time due to part-time employment in industry in the first half of 2015 was 1,919,700 man-days (against 637,100 man-days in the first half of 2014), including 1,869,100 man-days in manufacturing industry (against 618,200 man-days in the first half of 2014), which equals to absence from work of 15,000 people (5,000 people).

Besides, 146,700 workers didn't work full days due to downtime in the first half of 2015, including 98.3% employees of manufacturing industry. The amount of non-worked time due to downtime in industry was 2,209,000 man-days, including 2,186,100 man-days in manufacturing industry.
