Number of recorded unemployed in Belarus increased by a factor of 2.2

As of the end of July 2015 the number of officially registered unemployed in Belarus was 46.600 persons.

It is by a factor of 2.2 more than in the end of July 2014, and by 0.4% less than in the end of June 2015, BelaPAN was informed by the press-service of the National Statistics Committee with a reference to statistics of the Labour and Social Protection Ministry.

The level of recorded unemployment at the end of July 2015 was 1% of the economically active population (0.5% in the end of July 2014).

4 mln 473.3 thousand people were employed in the economy of the country in July 2015, which is 1.5% less than in July 2014.

In July 2015 economic entities (excluding small business entities) accepted for employment 73.2 thousand people (2.3% of the average monthly number), including 3.3 thousand for the additionally created new jobs, or 4.6% of the total number of employed.

70.7 thousand people were officially dismissed on different grounds (2.3% of the average monthly number of people), 4.7% out of them for unexcused absence and other violation of labour discipline, 0.9% in connection with reduction in the number of employees or staff size, or liquidation of organisations.

The replacement rate of employees (the number of employed/the number of dismissed ratio) in July 2016 was 1.035 (in July 2014 it was 1.086).

It should be noted that only official statistics is meant, while the level of the concealed unemployment; in Belarus exceeds it manifold.
