Mikalai Autukhovich failed to make lift preventive supervision

Hrodna court dismissed the appeal of the former political prisoner that the preventive supervision over him is illegal.

“I had had no doubts the decision would be like that. The order to extend supervision was received from above. I knew about that back in March,” Autukhovich commented on the ruling of the court.

We remind that in the middle of July the court of Vaukavysk district dismissed the appeal of the local police department to extend the preventive supervision term for Autukhovich. There was a procurator’s appeal by the acting prosecutor of Vaukavysk district against this court decision. On August 5 the panel of judges of Hrodna regional court supported the prosecutor and reversed the ruling of the court of Vaukavysk district.

On August 6 the district court extended the preventive supervision over Autukhovich for half a year. The court proceedings were held in absence of Autukhovich, who was hospitalized on that day suspected of hypertensic crisis. Only a lawyer was present in the court on that day.
