Nobody can deprive the people of Belarus of the right to peaceful protests.

A press conference involving Mikalai Statkevich, Anatol Liabedzka, Uladzimir Niakliaeu and Pavel Seviarynets will be held on August 28. The opposition leaders are going to make important statements. Pavel Seviarynets, a co-head of the organising committee to create Belarusian Christian Democracy party (BCD), says what will be discussed at the press conference, Radio Racyja reports.

“Mikalai Statkevich proposes to protest. We have many problems and many questions in this regard. Mikalai Statkevich has and expresses his own position, and many people think the same. Nobody can deprive the people of Belarus of the right to protest. The situation is more difficult than in 2010 due to Russia and Ukraine. The economy is declining. Protests can begin by themselves without any calls of the leader,” he says.
