Pavel Seviarynets: Free election is when Pazniak, Sannikov and Statkevich can run in it

It's premature to speak about liberalisation in Belarus.

The statement was made by Pavel Seviarynets, a co-head of the organising committee to create Belarusian Christian Democracy party.

“We should understand that a number of political prisoners were released, but others were jailed. The guys are held in jail for drawing beautiful graffiti 'Belarus must be Belarusian” on the wall, for drawing the crossed out swastika and the crossed out hummer and sickle. Free and honest election in Belarus is when Zianon Pazniak, Andrei Sannikov and Mikalai Statkevich can run in it and Lukashenka can't,” the politician said.

Former political prisoner Mikalai Statkevich, Uladzimir Niakliaeu, Anatol Liabedzka and Pavel Seviarynets held a joint press conference on August 28. Statkevich called on the dictator to come to the square to meet with his voters and answer their questions.
