Ales Lahvinets Planning To Hold “Boycott 101”

The unregistered candidate intends to call for the boycott of the “parliamentary elections”.

Deputy Chairman of the movement “For Freedom” Ales Lahvinets believes that this measure could be the only response at the electoral district with no alternative, Radio Racyja reports.

“We will probably repeatedly organize the “Boycott 101” as they leave us no right to choose,” - Lahvinets says.

- They cannot play by their own rules even formally. In 2012, there was the “Boycott 101”, and basically it was rather successful, the “elections” failed. I clarified – there is only administrative responsibility prescribed for calling for a boycott of the elections. If there are two communists and a “Zhirinovsky-style” candidate, the people have simply no choice. Naturally, they will not be interested in the campaign,” - the politician thinks.

The name “Boycott 101” appeared because of the counting number of the Sukharava electoral district where the politician ran. Lahvinets held a memorable signature-collecting campaign, which made the elections commission and Lidziya Yarmoshyna personally criticize him. Lahvinets was denied registration as a candidate for “deputy” on grounds of two warnings.
