“DNR” Militant Detained In Minsk

A non-worker, 35, a dweller of Pruzhany district, was on the wanted list for non-support.

Journalists were informed about that today by the head of the Interior Affairs Directorate of Brest regional executive committee Fiodar Balejka, BelTA reports.

Criminal investigation officers of the district police department of Pruzhany detained the man in Minsk on January 11. The dweller of Pruzhany district, a non-worker, was on the wanted list for non-payment of child support.

“When he was taken to Pruzhany, we started our work, and it turned out that he had been taking part in military operations on the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions as a member of military groups. He had awards, and he confirmed that during interrogation. The nature of his actions is to be determined according to the Criminal Code,” – the head of the Internal Affairs directorate said.

He noted that it is not an isolated case, when a citizen of Brest region participates in the hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.

Fiodar Balejka provided a recent example when a native of Brest region, who went by the nickname “Mujahid”, was detained. He adopted Islam on the territory of Ukraine, and he was fighting in Tornado squadron. After he was detained in Ukraine, Brest law enforcers searched his previous place of residence. Explosive devices (grenades) were seized.

The head of Pruzhany district police department Aliaksandr Huk confirmed to Nasha Niva that the detained native of Pruzhany district was fighting for the so-called “Donetsk People’s Republic.”
