Belarus also agreed to cancel the increase of tariffs for the oil transit from the Russian Federation.

Vice-PM of Belarus Uladzimir Siamashka has said this to the journalists, BelTA correspondent reports.

According to Uladzimir Siamashka, they have agreed that Belarus will return a certain accumulated amount, which the Russian side considers as the debt for gas supplies. "We must return this money. However, we got a one-time significant reduction in gas prices this year and other support from the Russian side in return. Further on, (we have set and indicated in a protocol) a downward price trajectory in the coming years," – the Deputy Prime Minister has said.

Siamashka has also said that Russia would restore the prior volumes of oil deliveries to the Belarusian side, and Belarus will cancel the decision to raise tariffs for the transit of hydrocarbons.

"We have settled all current issues. You know that in the third quarter half the oil supply to Belarus is blocked. We had to get to 6 million tons, and now we really get only 3 million tons. Now all this is being restored. The oil supply in full scope for the full load of our refineries should recover by October 20, " – the Deputy Prime Minister has told.

"We have also made conciliatory moves. The tariffs for oil transit were a little bit raised recently, now we are returning them back. That is, the tariffs as of October 1 will be in force again,” – Uladzimir Siamashka has noted.

We remind, in 2016 an oil and gas conflict broke out between Russia and Belarus. Due to the global drop in energy prices Minsk considers a fair price for the supplied Russian gas to Belarus at a rate of $73 per 1,000 cubic meters (now the price for Belarus is $132 dollars per 1,000 cubic meters). The Russians said that discounts on gas for Belarus remain "out of the question."

The reduced oil supplies to Belarus to 5,25 million tons in the second half, which has already cost Belarus 0,3 % of the GDP, is connected with the gas issue, as well as with the debt in the amount of $ 300 million.
