Lukashenka: Situation Is Not Rosiest One

The dictator admitted that he and his “allies” on the EAEC were going around in a circle.

Lukashenka stated that to the heads of governmental delegations of the CIS and the EAEC before the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government on October 28 in Minsk.

“If we do not comply with the agreements, that we have suffered, it was not so simple, the Union has no prospects. At the moment, the situation is not the rosiest one. A significant backlog is observed on many aspects. We often go around in a circle. A typical example is the removal of seizures, barriers and trade restrictions, of which there are several hundreds,” – BelTA quoted Lukashenka.

On the eve of the meeting, on October 27, a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held in Minsk, at which the heads of the EAEC governments (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) failed to agree on a new Customs Code. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev reporting the results of the meeting, said that the participants “agreed to continue the discussion in the very near future, within the next three weeks, and to meet in Moscow in order to reconcile the interests.”
