Lukashenka Gets Reminded: Screening Of Officials Is Coming

The civil initiative “Screening of Officials for Belarus” has created the concept of the screening of officials, basing on the experience of the European countries.

Screening of officials is not punishment, but purification of the officials, who broke the law at their time. It’s impossible to build a democratic society without such screening.

That is why the civil initiative “Screening of Officials for Belarus” has created the concept of the screening of officials, basing on the experience of Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, the Baltic States and other countries.

“I’d like to warn all the officials and all those who are now working in the state apparatus that all of them will go through the screening. Everyone has a chance to go through this procedure and continue working at the same position. If you did not break the current legislation or human rights during Lukashenka’s rule, you don’t have to fear this screening of officials,” – coordinator of the initiative Valiantsina Sviatskaya has said to Radio Racyja.

According to Valiantsina Sviatskaya, it’s the business of the public prosecutors and courts to deal with criminals and punish them correspondingly. Meanwhile, screening of officials is just limitation of the right to take certain governing and other positions.

The force structures, the judges and the public prosecutors should keep in mind the screening of officials in the first place.
