Belarusian Diary Product Deliveries To Be Limited In RF

The problem of Belarusian dairy product deliveries can be resolved with the help of equalizing state support measures and introducing rigid quotas.

This was stated Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Nikolai Vlasov at the round table at the State Duma, the RIA Novosti informs.

According to Vlasov, the Russian dairy farming deals with the single issue of Belarus' deliveries and falsification, as far as the falsification of milk products is carried out by fairly harmless substances both in the Russian Federation and in Belarus.

"Both the Belarusian issue and the falsification lead to the fact that their presence and the failure to take tough measures against them, kill our dairy farming, we will never have enough regular milk, if these two problems are not resolved. That is, we have to negotiate with Belarusians on rigid quotas, in my view, or on equal state support measures, or our stockbreeders will never get out of it," – Vlasov said.

Earlier Rosselkhoznadzor reported that Belarus still occupied the first place among the external suppliers of milk and dairy products to the Russian market, and that the republic’s supplies were constantly growing.

According to Rosselkhoznadzor, in 2016 the most important Belarusian export positions were milk and cream – 340 thousand tons (190 thousand tons of potable ones, 150 thousand tons of dry or condensed ones); cheese and cottage cheese – 130 thousand tons; whey – 78 000 tons; butter – 62 thousand tons; buttermilk, yogurt, kefir – 36 thousand tons.

Earlier it was said in Minsk that the forecast balances of milk and dairy product supplies to Russia amounted to 4 million tons in 2016, at that the Belarusian authorities stated that the companies would be willing to increase the country's supply at the request of the Russian Federation. The food delivery forecast balances for 2017 will be approved between Belarus and Russia in January-February next year.
