Lukashenka made a New Year performance

Lukashenka made a New Year performance

Media pays a lot of attention to the new appointments in the higher echelon of power in the recent days.

Choice of the newly appointed executives is being discussed this way and that. The TV shows kind of New Year performances telling about the great significance of the new appointments, and so on and so forth.

But, to my mind, it's just a show, a play for the electorate, a kind of maneuver used to distract people from the urgent problems of basic survival. Personnel reshuffles will change nothing, they can change nothing. The new staff has no power to change anything despite whether they are communists or they don't belong to any party. They are dependent on the state ruler.

It seemed to me, that the main criterion for their appointment is that they have allegedly realized what they can do, being in these high positions, and what they cannot do under any circumstances. The latter is crucial.

Today they all are people of the monarch and they should do only what the monarch tells them to do.
