609 workers are missing at the "construction of the century".

The regional newspaper Krai Smaliavitski has published official statistics on unemployment. 609 out of 866 current vacancies have a mandatory requirement to know Chinese language. This is due to the construction of the Chinese industrial park "Great Stone" in the region, euroradio.fm reports. Besides, Smolevichi can offer jobs at "Smolevichi Broiler" enterprise (144 vacancies) and in Smolevichi District Hospital (90 vacancies).

The district newspaper also writes about the lack of young staff. Only half of the students and trainees allocated to the region stay here. 136 young specialists came in 2014, only half of them – 71 persons – have stayed after two years.

The Department of Labor and Employment confirmed to reporters, that the figures are real. There really are 609 vacancies in the region that require knowledge of Chinese language. There are not many applications for them.

Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone" is a territorial entity of about 80 square km with a special legal regime to ensure comfortable conditions for doing business.

The industrial park is located in Smolevichi district, 25 km from Minsk, near the National Airport, railroad and transnational highways M1.

Experts on the Belarusian-Chinese relations speak about the difficulties which the park administration has faced in recent years. In particular this applies to attracting foreign investors. Official Minsk hopes that its Chinese partners will deal with this. But for Beijing, the "Great Stone" is just one of hundreds of similar projects around the world, thus it is more important for Belarusians than for Beijing.
