Brest Entrepreneurs to Take a Street Protest

Brest individual entrepreneurs (IEs) plan to take a rally against Decrees No. 222 and No. 48.

Alena Kuktus, a member of ROO Perspective, informs BelaPAN about the decision to file an application to hold a rally. The decision was taken by more than 400 IEs on February 3, near the central city store, Brest.

"At the meeting we voiced an address to Chairman of Brest City Executive Committee to repeal Decrees No. 222 and No. 48, Kuktus said. -445 IEs signed the document. Signatures collection will last for a few days and then it is sent to the Executive Committee".

According to Kuktus, 80% of IEs of light industry sector suspended their work on January 1 in Brest. They are going to start work as soon as two Decrees are abolished.

It should be reminded that starting from this date, according to Lukashenka's Decree, entrepreneurs will not be able to sell goods of light industry imported from the Customs Union with no certificates. Up to January 1 they were allowed to sell residual stocks that had been imported without documentation before July 2014.
