Even the National Statistics Committee data knock the bottom out of the officials’ optimistic statements.

On March 23 chairman of the State Control Committee Leanid Anfimau was generous with compliments, visiting Salea LLC in Dziarzhynsk.

– The rapid development of Salea LLC breaks spiteful critics and pessimists’ claims that the economy is in crisis. Of course, the situation in our country and in neighboring countries, with which Belarus has traditionally been linked economically, is complicated. But if a head of an enterprise is a purposeful, strong-willed person, a responsible and creative worker, who aims the stuff at solving important issues, then, in spite of adverse external factors, the company achieves its ambitious goals, – the official said.

Surely, one can only be glad for the company and its employees’ success. But the stubborn statistic says that we don’t have many reasons to rejoice, Salidarnasts writes.

Look for yourself: according to the National Statistics Committee the proportion of unprofitable industrial enterprises has reached 47.8% in Belarus. In fact, it’s every second enterprise.

And when you take into account that it’s about a company from the holding owned by Aliaksandr Shakutsin, the businessman close to power, which can partially explain the success of the company in times of crisis, it becomes even sadder. You will become a pessimist, if not a spiteful critic.
