Belarusian MFA Working On “Comprehensive Cooperation” With Zimbabwe

Belarusian Ambassador to the RSA and Zimbabwe concurrently Andrei Mouchan is paying a working visit to Harare on April 25-28.

In the framework of the visit the Ambassador met with the Ministers of mining and shafts, industry and trade, and agriculture, as well as with the Deputy Minister, Director of the Europe Department of the MFA, and the directive board of Zimbabwe Regional Development Fund, informs the press-center of the Belarusian MFA.

Zimbabwe Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa met with Andrei Mouchan on April 27.

During the negotiations the parties discussed the issues of “comprehensive development of the inter-state cooperation, with the highest priority of the trade and economic direction”.

“In this context, we thoroughly analyzed the process of realization of previously reached inter-governmental agreements on shipment of big batches of Belarusian auto-equipment and machinery at every branch level, as well as the perspectives of realization of a series of mutual projects in this country,” noted in the press-release.

BelaPAN reminds, Zimbabwe remains one of the poorest states in the world. Hyperinflation caused abolition of the national currency (the biggest banknote had a nominal value of 100 trillion Zimbabwean dollars) and introduction of the US dollar. President Robert Mugabe, who turned 92 on February 21, has been permanently ruling the country since 1980.
