Explosion At “Polymir” Plant in Novapolatsk

The information about an emergency situation at Novapolatsk plant appeared in social networks in the evening on April 27.

Eye-witnesses claimed there had been “an explosion and a severe fire” in one of the plant’s workshops. As Press-Secretary of the Ministry for Emergency Situations Vital Navitski has told tut.by, the incident happened due to the leakage of ethylene.

The Ministry for Emergency Situations received the message from the Senior Dispatcher of “Polymir Naftan JSC” at 4.58 p.m. There had been an ethylene leakage and the technological process stopped due to regulative valve failure, in the workshop No. 105.

“The commission of the engineer and technical staff of the plant is working at the spot, the routine process operations to start the workshop are in progress. The engineers are working to define the reason for the regulative valve failure. There has been no information about the casualties,” Vital Navitski has informed the details.
