Treasury Is Absolutely Empty: TV-set Of Siarhei Skrabets’ Parents Confiscated

A TV-set of parents of the former “deputy” and businessman Siarhei Skrabets was confiscated in the evening on May 16.

"Special operation" was carried out by the officer of the court of Pershamaiski district of Minsk Alisevich Maryna Siarheeuna and the director of the store "BelSpetsSbyt" (sale of confiscated and collateralized property) Illia Kobrynski. Seizing the TV-set from the elderly people, Kobrynski said that he was a famous hockey player.

Court officers have already been at the flat of Siarhei Skrabets’ parents, with whom he is living now, at the beginning of April when they distrained the old Samsung TV-set. Skrabets's parents did not appeal against the distress, because it would cost the elderly people more than the TV-set itself.

In 1997-2000, S.Skrabets headed the CJSC Trading House "BelBabayevsky" (representative of the Russian confectionary concern in Belarus), in 2000-2004 he was a deputy of the “chamber of representatives”, the deputy chairman of the standing commission on budget, finances and tax policy. He was the head of the informal deputy group “Respublika” from May 2003.

A criminal case was opened against Skrabets and he was accused of being the organizer of a criminal group. He was detained in May 2005. The prosecutor's office opened a criminal case against the former deputy under two articles of the Criminal Code: Art. 13 p. 1 (preparation of a crime) and Art. 431 p. 2 (preparation for giving a bribe).

On September 13, 2005, Skrabets was charged again – with illegal participation in entrepreneurial activity. Skrabets held four hunger strikes to protest against the charges, one of the hunger strikes lasted 40 days. During the court hearings all accusations against him collapsed.

[17.05.16, 14:37:57] Anemon Anemon: On February 14, 2006 Siarhei Skrabets was sentenced to 2.5 years of imprisonment. By the decision of the prosecutor’s office Syarhei Skrabets was amnestied and released a year earlier, on November 15, 2006. During the imprisonments Siarhei Skrabets lost 30 kg of body weight.

The confiscation was held as the part of the old criminal case. In 2000 Belarusbank granted a credit to BelBabayevsky Trading House, which the enterprise couldn’t repay due to confiscation of caution money from the bank.

I looked at the website and got flipped over by what the well-known hockey players confiscate today: two brushes, pencil sharpener for Br17000, three pencils – the treasury is absolutely empty! Although my parents have nothing to do with it, they have already gone through the fifth confiscation. I feel sorry for my parents, my father is so weak after a stroke, – Siarhei Skrabets stressed in his commentary to "Belaruskaya Prauda".
