Prime Minister demands stop the practice of “unreasonable raising” of salaries to workers.

Belarusian Prime Minister Andrei Kabiakou ordered to put an end to cases of unwarranted raising of salaries at state owned enterprises. He has said so at the session of the Council of Ministers that focused on results of Belarus’ social and economic development in Q1 2016, BelTA reports.

“A number of state-run enterprises, who receive state support, are trying to remedy their economic state without cutting expenses. Against the background of some demand growth they started to raise salaries actively, which is categorically wrong, – Andrei Kabiakou said. – If wage advance is taking place basing upon real market results of work, there are no questions about that. But when some enterprises suddenly decided to raise wages, while they are remaining on the needle of state aid, while rigid norms on salaries in the government sector had been set, while pensions and allowances are growing very moderately – it is unacceptable. I have instructed to stop such practice.”

We remind that today Lukashenka prepared a draft law which is to dramatically reduce state aid to enterprises.
