Dalia Grybauskaite, Charlize Theron and Steve Wonder Call Upon Eradicating Poverty Worldwide

193 leaders of states and governments, who had been taking part in the United Nations summit, have confirmed the new agenda of the “sustainable development.”

As the press-service of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry reports, during the summit a new agreement on 17 new goals of “sustainable development,” which have replaced the goals of the millennium development goals, have been reached, and their implementation is to be continued until 2030.

The new plans of the program are much more ambitious, and suggest implementation of concrete actions, not only for developing and industrialized countries. In the next 15 years it is expected to end such a phenomenon as poverty, to ensure high quality of education and health care, to ensure equality of sexes, sustainable consumption and production patterns, and fight climate change.

In the UN advertising video Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite, together with presidents of Chile, Liberia, South Korea and the UN Goodwill ambassador, Malala Yousfzai, an actor Daniel Craig, an actress Charlize Theron, a musician Stevie Wonder, a scientist Stephen Hawking calls upon joining the campaign on ending poverty and encouraging a sustainable development worldwide.
