Bureaucrats to Be Treated in Superhospital for Elite

77

All citizens of Belarus are equal, but some are even more equal and have the right for the best medical care.

There will be built a new hospital for high bureaucracy next to Lukashenka's residence in Drazdy. Lukashenka signed the decree on the new special subject two years ago, Belsat reports.

In a year and a half Zhdanovichy will open the door for high officials in the new hospital. According to documents, its approximate cost is €100 million.

There is a hospital for bureaucracy in the very center of Minsk (also known as medical commission) at the intersection of Engels and Krasnoarmeiskaya Street. After the opening of the new hospital, the building will be owned by the city. The new building plans to have a VIP-department with separate entrances, kitchens and security rooms.

"I guess the state has no spare cash, thus, it is useless to spend it for parades and new buildings," a Minsk resident says.

Meanwhile, there is lack of medical institutions in the country. For example, the construction of a health center in Bilyevo - new microdistrict of Vitsebsk - had to start a year ago, but local bureaucrats only throw up their hands: we have no money and the district hospital in Miory has been constructed for 25 years already.

"This institution is an object of optional luxury and, perhaps, even a demonstrative one. The sense is to show the Belarusian people that you will work on us, you will put nose to the grindstone and we will relax and you will be able to do nothing with it," Pavel Seviarynets, the BCD Party, notes.

There are more than 10 barracks. The construction is in full play. It is planned to put the new building into service in the winter of 2017.
