The Russian propaganda gave in vain preference to a billionaire – the republican Donald Trump and compared him with Barack Obama.

Vitaly Portnikov, Ukrainian journalist and political correspondent, expressed his point of view on Espresso.TV."

"But yesterday Trump was a favourite of Russian propagandists. This love arose after the billionaire declared a possibility to find a common language with the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin. Obama does not do it, he announces sanctions, does not see the sacred meaning of a stolen Crimea in the life of every Russian chauvinist. But Trump will understand!," Portnikov believes.

However, Trump, according to the journalist, "has its own sense of actions in the foreign policy."

"He believes the opponent needs to feel his own power. There is no need to be tough," Portnikov wrote.

In his opinion, Trump's assertion that sooner or later the Russian fighter conducting dangerous maneuvers near an American warplane will be shot down by missiles had to be shock to a Russian propaganda.

"If Putin wants to misbehave – there is a need to punish him. And be tough and steady. This is Trump. For Obama relations with Putin are a cooling-off pending the collapse of the regime. For Trump it is punishment pending the collapse of the regime. The only scenario for Putin and his inner circle is the cell in the Hague. But with Trump as a leader, Putin will find himself there sooner, and there will be more casualties of the confrontation of the USA and Russia", Portnikov foretells.

On May 4, after the refusal of Ted Cruz and John Kasich to participate in primaries, Trump became the only contender of the Grand Old Party's presidential nomination.
