Locals have filed an application for holding a picket against construction near Sovlava and Palachany villages.

It is planned to hold a meeting on May 12 near the building of Maladzechna district executive committee in Vinelskaya Street, 6, the Green Portal writes.

On May 6 a public discussion on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Study of the pig-breeding complex for 100,000 head of cattle a year, and access roads to it near agrotown Palachany (Maladzechna district, Minsk region) is to take place. The meeting is to start at 6 p.m. in the building of Palachany rural executive committee situated in Maladzechna district, Palachany agrotown, Vakzalnaya Street, 3. All interested citizens are invited to participate.

A public discussion concerning this construction had already taken place. Ecologists note that the Environmental Impact Assessment Study needs correcting, and have prepared some comments. The construction plan is not ideal either: negative environmental impact and natural resources exploiting had not been minimized in it.

In November 2014 a public discussion on the EIA on construction of pig-breeding farms for 100,000 head of cattle a year each, and access roads to them, near the villages of Sovlava and Moisichy, was held in Maladzechna district. After the discussion it was decided that a pig farm near Moisichy would not be built. The contractor, Veles-Mit joint stock company, was offered to consider a different site. And the neighbourhood of Palachany village became this alternative site.
