“MP” Volha Palitsika “Forgets” About Niakliaeu And Kazulin

13

In the opinion of the so-called “MP”, the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly provides “an opportunity to hear polar opinions”.

— The experience of conducting previous assemblies shows that representatives of different spheres, from the youth to the elderly people, have an opportunity to speak up. Thanks to that, we can hear polar opinions and pay attention to various aspects of the country’s development. This helps us, the legislators and the government, to receive a clear message which issues worry the Belarusian people the most and which direction we should go further on, — BelTA news agency quotes member of the Standing Committee of the House of Representatives on Industry, Fuel-Energy Complex, Transport and Communication Volha Palitsika.

Such beautiful and correct words. However, the real experience of conducting previous assemblies shows quite the opposite. Let’s just recall how ex-presidential candidates Aliaksandr Kazulin and Uladzimir Niakliaeu tried to use their right to sound their opinions about the situation in the country.

Presidential candidate Aliaksandr Kazulin trying to register to the All-Belarusian Assembly, 2006

On March 2, 2006 Kazulin tried to register as a delegate to the Assembly. However, commandos of the Interior Ministry’s special regiment “Almaz” beat him in the lobby and delivered to the police department in a minivan.

Uladzimir Niakliaeu was luckier. In 2010, they just didn‘t let him in to the registration procedure, with no physical force. However, there were some stout blokes hanging around the place of registration.
