“Deputy”: People Must Understand That They Are To Get On Ill For Long

A “deputy” of the “house of representatives” has explained why we need the “All-Belarusian Assembly.”

One of the biggest mysteries of the current All-Belarusian People's Assembly is what it is for.

Previously, such “khurals” were held on the eve of “presidential elections” to talk about how “the state for the people” had become even stronger and more prosperous. But in 2015, in the light of the particularly outstanding success in the economy and the unprecedented (negative) growth in population’s prosperity, they have chosen not to do that.

The meaning of the Assembly, if to put it mildly, is not quite obvious at the moment. However, the version, said out loud by one of the deputies of the “chamber of representatives” in his interview to Belgazeta, looks close to the reality. He is not too scared of informal communication with journalists:

“Why? ... to talk about the economy, that’s why! There is a need to explain to the people that we are going to get on ill not only this year, but next year, and in a year's time. And that no one is to blame, now everyone is living that way, even Russian oligarchs.”
