Each participant of the “All-Belarusian People's Assembly” has been presented with a tablet, a briefcase and a book totaling more than 550 000 dollars.

Leaders of the organizing committee of the Belarusian Christian Democracy party and the Christian-Democratic Movement demand to identify the buyers of expensive tablets for the Belarusian People's Assembly delegates and bring them to justice.

The statement was signed by Vital Rymasheuski, Dzianis Sadouski, Maryna Khomich, Volha Kavalkova Maksim Hatsak. In addition, they insist on increasing control over the funds expenditures from the republican and local budgets and direct them to high priority facilities and procurements, and to make the process of approval and implementation of public procurements transparent and available to the public scrutiny.

“Late last year, the whole country was raising money for the construction of the Belarusian Children's Hospice in Barauliany. The completion of the Hospice construction was quite problematic due to insufficient funding. There are a lot of facilities and projects in Belarus, which weren’t completed on time due to lack of money: hospitals, clinics, kindergartens, schools. The issue of drinking water in Minsk is still a problem. However, all of the “All-Belarusian People's Assembly” participants have been presented with a tablet, a briefcase and a book totaling more than 550 000 dollars. And these are by far not the only expenditures on organizing the event. Belarus today is in a severe economic crisis, and expending this way is an unnecessary luxury,” – the leader of the Christian Democratic Movement Volha Kavalkova said.
