Police of Mahilyeu Dispersed Children's Party

Children painting with crayons on a pedestrian have become "gross violators of a public order."

Video showing how the Belarusian police demonstrate the barbaric attitude towards people is posted on YouTube.

The video shows that on Saturday 25 there was organized a children’s party in the central pedestrian street of Mahilyeu. There was an art ground for children and they were given cacao. It was accompanied with fund raising for one of orphanages under the patronage of the coffee-house.

It was valid unless the local police approached. Their claim was that children "are too loud" and thereby "violate the public order."

Bar attendant tried to figure out what paragraph of the law had been violated. According to good sense, kids’ games in the street on Saturday are not a part of any article of the Administrative Code. Police officers failed to give a good response. They refused to show their documents. Meanwhile, several people in the uniform arrived.

After a 20-minute show the bar attendant was handcuffed and taken to the police station for "further proceedings".

Charter97.org managed to reach one of police officers Uladzimir Yeliseyeu by phone. According to him, the bar attendant was about to attack the police.
