Lukashenka On Student Assignment: Youngsters Will Find Occupation Themselves? I Disagree

The dictator refuses point-blank to give up the Soviet-times tradition which has outlived itself long ago.

At the Republican ball of the graduates of higher educational establishments, Lukashenka has underlined that “the state cares about the destinies of the young”. According to him, the state fulfills its obligation, in particular, provides the first job placement in accordance with the specialty.

— Not every state can do this. We also had serious debates on this lately, as we got into a serious turbulence zone in the economy, — BelTA quotes Lukashenka’s words.

— Some suggested we should give it up, like, let the youngsters who graduated higher educational establishments find occupation themselves. I totally disagree with that. We preserved an opportunity for each of you to get employed, to go to work, and everything else is up to you.

— I see the young people’s willingness to work fruitfully and to show initiative, — the state leader has added. — I welcome this. You will need to absorb new technologies, to develop manufacture and the sphere of services, to take the Belarusian culture and science to the leading positions in the world.

According to Lukashenka, it is symbolic that the graduates start their working lives in the first year of the 5-years period on which the states places high expectations with respect to the dynamic development. He has underlined that the state counts on the youth.

— That is why the program(of the social-economic development of Belarus in 2016—2020) sets youth policy as one of the state’s priorities, — the state leader has said.
