Traffic Police Stops A BMW X5 Decorated With National Ornamental Design And White-Red-White Flag

On Wednesday, June 29, in the Masherau Avenue area in Minsk, a BMW X5 decorated with a national ornamental design and a white-red-white flag on the roof attracted attention of the traffic police officers.

According to driver Tsimafei, the policemen stopped him and expressed their claims towards the white-red-white flag, like, what symbol is that? The driver says he started calmly explaining his attitude to the colours of the historical flag, clarified that he appreciated national traditions and even demonstrated the national ornamental design on the car, nn.by informs.

Traffic policemen listened to the driver with deep interest, but took the decision to call their bosses and coordinate further actions with them. According to the driver, they were allegedly told not to leave him alone with a minimum fine.

In the end of the day they really made a minimum fine against him – 0,3 base fees, or Br 63K, for the self-made window film.

Today, thousands of Belarusian citizens drive with stickers with an image of the “Chaser” coat-of-arms or the white-red-white flag, and this is perceived normally as it has become a mass occurrence. As for the attempts of some drivers to drive with the national flags, they started attracting the attention of the traffic police officers.
