An administrative process has been opened against the activist.

The Minsk police drew up reports against public activist Pavel Vinahradau in connection with an unauthorized rally and “insulting an official.” The administrative case was opened on July 1, when Vinahradau, who was under preventive supervision, came for registration to the Maskouski district police department, BelaPAN writes.

The rally, that the activist held in Minsk on June 26th, was the reason for administrative prosecution. A garland of 20 white-red-white flags was put up on the bridge at the Brest route town entrance, and flags and posters of Vinahradau, showing the middle finger and the words “Thank You For The Supervision,” at bus stops in Umanski street near the shopping center “Hloba” and in Ramanauskaya Slabada street. This way the activist reacted to the fact that on June 7th the Court of Maskouski district of Minsk put Vinahradau under 6 months preventive supervision.

After that, the activist said that the aim of the event was to “give his regards to all those people who wanted to establish supervision for six months, in spite that there were three and a half months left before the end of the term of the conviction.”

“So, I am giving my regards to those whose idea was to put me under supervision, to the one who did it, namely to the criminal executive inspection of the Maskouski district police department and judge Sushko from the Court of Maskouski district, – Vinahradau said, looking in the camera and putting up the middle fingers on both hands.

In the morning of July 1 the opposition activist came to the Maskouski district police department with his things, presuming that he can immediately be sent to a detention center for the rally he had held. However, it did not happen.

“I'm outside and I can use my phone, which means that I am not going to be jailed – Vinahradau said. – Two administrative reports have been drawn up against me – under article 23.34 of the Administrative Code for illegal picketing, and under Article 23.5 for the insult.”

“The person who feels insulted is the Deputy Head of the criminal executive inspection of the Maskouski district mister Yury Fedziukovich. Actually what he finds insulting is the video, in which I am giving my regards. I can remember myself giving regards, but I can’t remember insulting him,” – the activist said.

According to Vinahradau, the first hearing of his administrative cases may be held next week.
